Chester Thornless Blackberry

Chester is a thornless and semi-erect variety of blackberry that was developed by the USDA in 1985. Medium to large berries are deep black, round and very sweet. This is a high quality and high yielding variety and will not soften or lose its color in hot weather. Reputedly an excellent variety for making blackberry wine. Late ripening.

What Our Clients Have to Say

Zehr’s has a wonderful, reasonably priced assortment of garden plants and the staff is friendly and helpful. I’m already planning on going back next spring.

I greatly enjoy the memorial garden you created for me and have received many compliments, thank you and to the polite and helpful crew, thank you! You went above and beyond!

Vicki

When I shopped at Zehr’s I was greeted by a worker with the friendly, “Is there anything I can help you with?” greeting and then escorted to the area where the specific shrub I was looking for was located. It saved me time and I greatly appreciated that!
